Do I need an AIS-140 certified tracker for my vehicle?
If you operate a public service vehicle — buses, taxis/cabs, school transport, or in some states goods carriers — most states require a certified VLTD for permit or fitness certificate renewal. Personal vehicles are not mandated. See our AIS-140 & Compliance page or ask us to confirm for your specific vehicle and state.
Can Trackdown help with the RTO paperwork, not just the device?
Yes — we prepare the fitment documentation your RTO requires alongside the certified install, so you're not left to interpret it yourself.
How long does installation take?
Most single-vehicle installs (OBD plug-in or hardwired) are completed same-day. Multi-vehicle fleets get a scheduled rollout so operations aren't disrupted.
Do I need to bring my vehicle somewhere, or do you come to us?
Both options exist — we install at your location or a partner garage near you, whichever is faster for your fleet.
Why isn't exact pricing listed on the site?
Software pricing is per-vehicle and scales with fleet size and contract length, and hardware pricing depends on device type — so a quote reflects your actual fleet rather than a generic rate card. Request a quote and you'll get real numbers, fast.
Are there hidden renewal or AMC fees?
No — your Annual Maintenance Contract price is quoted upfront with your initial order, covering device health monitoring, firmware updates and priority support.
Who can see my vehicle's location data?
Only accounts you authorise on your fleet dashboard — role-based access means dispatchers, drivers and finance users each see only what they need. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
Is dash-cam footage stored securely?
Flagged event clips are uploaded to encrypted cloud storage and accessible only from your authenticated dashboard or app account.
What's your response time if something goes wrong?
We respond within 2 business hours, with priority handling for Enterprise accounts. Reach us by phone, WhatsApp, or the dashboard support panel.
What if a device stops reporting?
Our platform flags offline or tampered devices automatically, and our support team follows up — you don't have to notice the gap yourself.
